Rebecca Cusey focuses her practice on family law, including custodial issues, divorce, and legal separations. She has been practicing law since 2017 and joined the firm in January of 2021. Rebecca is a devoted advocate for her clients who takes a client-based approach to resolving family disputes. Rebecca emphasizes a two-track process that pursues non-litigation approaches such as negotiated settlements or third-party mediation while still actively preparing for trial if settlement is not achievable.
Rebecca spent her undergraduate years at the University of California at Davis studying literature and graduated cum laude from George Mason University School of Law, also known as the Antonin Scalia Law School.
Rebecca is licensed to practice in all courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is a member of the Virginia Bar Association and the Fairfax County Bar Association.
Rebecca was born and raised in Northern California, and relocated from California to the DC metropolitan region in 1999. She has lived in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of DC as well as Northern Virginia. She and her husband share three young adult children and one hound dog.
Prior to attending law school, Rebecca was a movie and TV critic and print journalist, appearing frequently on radio and television programs to discuss culture and entertainment.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys reading, writing, travel, hiking, and throwing pottery on her pottery wheel.
