Lily Saffer focuses her practice in the areas of family law and general civil litigation. Ms. Saffer has been practicing law since 2013 and has been with the Firm since 2015. Lily enjoys the puzzle-like nature of the practice of law, whether she is finding the answer to an obscure legal question or calculating child support.
Ms. Saffer graduated from Wellesley College with a Bachelor of the Arts and obtained her law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law of the College of William and Mary. While in law school, Lily participated in both the Domestic Violence Clinic and the Special Education Advocacy Clinic, and was a member and eventually the President of the school’s Children’s Advocacy Law Society. She spent both of her summers in law school interning full-time with legal aid organizations, the Virginia Legal Aid Society in Farmville and the Legal Aid Justice Center in Richmond. Before joining the Firm, Ms. Saffer served as a law clerk in the Fairfax County Circuit Court for two years, first for Chief Judge Dennis J. Smith until his retirement and then for Judge Penney Azcarate for her first several weeks on the bench.
Lily is licensed to practice in all courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Among other professional associations and memberships, Ms. Saffer is a member of the Fairfax County Bar Association and the Northern Virginia Women Attorneys Association.
Lily is a Seattle native, but now lives in Fairfax City, Virginia. In her spare time, Lily sings and plays the keyboard in a band with two other attorneys.
