Andrew Tank focuses his practice in the areas of family law. Mr. Tank has been practicing law since 2007 and has been with the Firm (or one of its predecessors) since March 2011. He was made a partner of the Firm in February 2015. As a lawyer, Andy enjoys helping his clients navigate through what is often among the most stressful times of their lives, and achieving outcomes that are satisfying to each client based on his or her unique circumstances and values.

Mr. Tank graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science and obtained his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.

Andy is licensed to practice in all courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Tank has been an active member of the Virginia State Bar’s Young Lawyers Conference, serving as Program Chair for the Bar’s annual meeting from 2009 to 2012, and on its nominations committee for 2011 and 2012. From 2010 to 2013, he was a regular contributor to “Docket Call,” the Young Lawyers Conference’s quarterly newsletter, writing articles on family law topics. Andy was likewise elected and served as a board member for the Fairfax Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Section from June 2010 to June 2012.

Mr. Tank has been named by Super Lawyers as a Virginia “Rising Star” in the practice area of family law every year since 2015. In February 2015, he received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award as a result of having an average Client Review Rating of 4.9 out of a possible 5.0.

Andrew Tank grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, less than a mile from George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate. He currently resides in Arlington, Virginia. In his spare time, Andy enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing golf, and tirelessly supporting Washington DC’s professional sports franchises.
